Berlitz Korean Phrase Book (Berlitz Phrase Book) Review
This book is an excellent resource for the occasional traveler.
I think that the "errors" Other auditors, namely theemigre found in the book are done without mistakes. For example, even if it is written in Hangul museum as a "multi-pak-Kwan," are words that should not be pronounced that way, but "Pang-Mul-gwan. Consider the change of the English language, a word ends with "t" followed by "y" passes through a morph of "ch" for example, whatcha doin '?
In Korea, morphological changes are everywhere among the syllables. If you learn Hangul not know what these changes and your pronunciation will be wrong. Words can have different pronunciations in different contexts. So stick with the pronunciation of the book.
Here is a quote from page 8, following the introduction of Hangul: "These are the sounds most associated with each letter, but may vary and is imitated in the debate over the terms of individual expression."
It seems that the guys at Berlitz know what they do when they write this romanization. I like to give them the benefit of the doubt, rather than some amateur traveler, what the Hangul letter "k" is not learning, it can also be pronounced "ng" learned before a nasal consonant. In addition to all travelers do not try to Hangul. Let's just be happy theemigre was not a review of a TibetanVoice.
I give this book five stars, because the expectations for an entry and nothing else running, except for some notes on the history and culture and eating. How PhraseBook I think that meets the needs of occasional travelers. Meets the need of all types of travel situations, like eating or shopping, when the name of an item, you can quickly find and discuss the need for money. And the more serious student of languages to take classes at any time may actuallyLearn something from this book.
